I am entirely serious when I say that if you have any air quality concerns of any kind, you should just never come to interior Alaska.
In the summer it's smoke that breaks the AQ scale, in the spring its pollen that literally piles up and must be shoveled away, (and also breaks the AQ scale) and in the winter we get cold snaps so intense that smoke doesn't rise, so we're all waking around a small town with air pollution on par with Beijing (and guess what the AQ scale gets all fucky then too). And yeah, occasionally a volcano goes off and well, I'll give you one guess about what that does to the poor abused AQ scale.

Hate being the generation that remembers when YouTube videos would buffer when you pause them, allowing the entire video to load and let you watch it without interruption even on slow connections.
